It has been awhile since I last updated my Journal. A lot has been going on since my last entry in June. In July, three of my family members finally visited me and the last time that they were in Oregon was the previous year in June. My mother visited me first for a week, which turned into a disaster. She complained about every little thing on how I live my life. I was hoping for a pleasant visit with her and take her to various areas of Portland to show her how great it is. However, during the week, it was mainly yelling at each other. We did manage to head to Powell's City of Books and for anyone that has never heard of this place, it is definitely a main attraction to Portland area. Powell's is the world's large independent bookstore in the world. The entire bookstore takes up an entire city block. One room is the size of a normal bookstore. Anyways, she hated it because she felt like it was a warehouse.

The following week, my dad and step-mom (Susan) visited me and even though it was a short visit, I had tons of fun. The experience going to Powell's was much enjoyable. We also headed up to Mt. St. Helens, which was fun with a geology oriented father.
